SALEM, Mass. — Congressman Moulton, Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll today announced that the City of Salem will receive $34 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to redevelop a vacant industrial facility into a marshalling area for offshore wind energy projects.

Washington D.C. – Congressman Moulton and the Massachusetts Congressional Delegation have sent a letter to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Deanne Criswell and Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) Chair Michael Lee requesting help for local organizations to find the resources they need to support newly arrived migrants in Massachusetts.

 Salem, Mass.– Congressman Seth Moulton and Senator Edward J. Markey are introducing legislation that would redesignate the Salem Maritime National Historic Site as the Salem Maritime National Historical Park.
 
Salem Maritime was established in 1938 as the first National Historic Site to be included in the National Park System.  Redesignating the site as a National Historical Park will help to attract more visitors to Salem and allow the National Park Service to more easily obtain funding for exhibits and signage.

Congressman Moulton released the following reflection about his friend, Ashton Carter, who passed away this week at the age of 68: 

"Losing Secretary Ash Carter means losing a mentor and a friend; losing someone we admired and enjoyed; losing someone who has done so much for America and yet had much left to give. Liz and I are deeply saddened. We are sending our love to his children, Ava and Will, and our friend, his wife Stephanie, at this terribly sad time.

Salem, MA— Congressman Seth Moulton, Senators Edward J. Markey and Elizabeth Warren, and Congressman Jim McGovern (MA-02) applaud the Department of Energy (DOE) announcement that two Massachusetts companies companies – 6K Inc. and Ascend Elements – received grants totalling $530 million in federal dollars as part of a federal program to support innovation in battery manufacturing, recycling, and materials processing across the United States to meet demand in the expanding electric vehicle (EV) market and to strengthen domestic supply chains.

Markey and Elizabeth Warren, and Representatives Richard Neal (MA-01), Katherine Clark (MA-05), Jim McGovern (MA-02), Bill Keating (MA-09), and Lori Trahan (MA-03) in announcing that Massachusetts will receive $145 million in federal funding from the Capital Projects Fund (CPF) to improve broadband access in communities across Massachusetts.
