Beginning on July 16th, anyone in America, anywhere in America, can dial just three digits–988–to get free, confidential, and immediate help for a mental health emergency.

Washington, DC—Congressman Seth Moulton is proud to announce the new 9-8-8 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline will launch on Saturday, July 16th. Americans experiencing a mental health crisis or who are concerned about the mental health of a loved one will be able to dial 9-8-8 and get rapid, free, trained and confidential help.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the FY2023 National Defense Authorization Act, which sets the funding levels, expenditures and authorizations for the Department of Defense.

Salem, Mass. Today, Representative Seth Moulton announced that fourteen projects in the Sixth District totaling over 16 million dollars in funding have been included in FY 2023 Appropriations Subcommittee bills. 

These bills serve as the primary mechanism for funding federal programs each year. If funded, these projects will help local communities protect the environment, improve public safety, and increase access to healthcare, housing, and public transportation.

Each year, this award recognizes one individual from Massachusetts’ Sixth Congressional District who exemplifies the qualities of integrity, compassion and commitment to community, which were the foundational principles of Moulton’s late mentor, Reverend Peter J. Gomes.

Updates

Congressman Moulton is seeking hard-working individuals who are passionate, driven, and committed to public service for an internship in his Salem office and Washington D.C. office in Summer 2023.

Internships are intended for current undergraduate students, recent college graduates, students currently enrolled in graduate school. Under very rare circumstances the office will also host high school students.
