WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Seth Moulton has voted with the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the FY2023 National Defense Authorization Act, which sets the funding levels, expenditures and authorizations for the Department of Defense. 

The FY2023 NDAA includes a pay increase for all military personnel and civilians and makes historic military justice reforms.

Salem, Mass.—Congressman Seth Moulton and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Edward J. Markey announced that Manchester-by-the-Sea will receive a nearly $4.5 million grant to help mitigate flooding problems on Sawmill Brook by the Central Street Bridge. 

The grant, which is part of FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities grant program, will pay for part of the cost of replacing and upgrading the existing Central Street bridge, as well as removal of an obsolete tide gate to further increase hydraulic capacity and promote fish passage.

Washington, D.C.— Congressman Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) issued the following statement in response to many provisions related to the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program being stripped from the National Defense Authorization Act. Special Immigrant Visas are available to individuals who have worked as translators, interpreters, or other professionals employed by or on behalf of the United States government in Afghanistan or Iraq.

SALEM, Mass. — Congressman Moulton, Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll today announced that the City of Salem will receive $34 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to redevelop a vacant industrial facility into a marshalling area for offshore wind energy projects.

 Salem, Mass.– Congressman Seth Moulton and Senator Edward J. Markey are introducing legislation that would redesignate the Salem Maritime National Historic Site as the Salem Maritime National Historical Park.
 
Salem Maritime was established in 1938 as the first National Historic Site to be included in the National Park System.  Redesignating the site as a National Historical Park will help to attract more visitors to Salem and allow the National Park Service to more easily obtain funding for exhibits and signage.
