WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Seth Moulton and Senator Edward J. Markey have reintroduced legislation that would redesignate the Salem Maritime National Historic Site as the Salem Maritime National Historical Park.
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Moulton (D-MA-08) joined his colleagues in writing to Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Acting Director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Todd Lyons, demanding information about the arrest and detention of Tufts University student Rumeysa Ozturk and similar incidents across the country.

On Tuesday, the House passed a Continuing Resolution (“CR”), a six-month bill to fund the federal government until the end of September. I voted against this bill, along with 212 other Democrats, because I do not believe in giving a free pass to Elon Musk and President Trump to continue on their destructive path.
Now this measure is with the Senate, and we are waiting to see what happens.

Since long before Trump was elected to a second term, I have been extremely concerned about how he will trample on the rights of transgender Americans and other minorities. Oftentimes Trump and his Republican enablers seem to act purely out of hatred, and there is no question that their political stunts put vulnerable Americans at risk. Transgender individuals, in particular, have faced significant adversity, experiencing discrimination, hate crimes, attempts to limit bodily autonomy, and worsened mental health as a result.
