Moulton Submits Amendments Before DHS Appropriations Bill Vote
March 4, 2026
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Seth Moulton (MA-06) submitted a series of targeted amendments to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Appropriations Bill during this week's House Rules Committee hearing.
They are:
- The Healthcare Reinvestment Act: Redirects proposed ICE funding increases to extend ACA premium tax credits.
- TPS Protections: Prohibits the use of funds to arrest or deport eligible Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients.
- Restricting Strategic Transfers: Prevents the government from transferring non-citizens to different states within ten days of apprehension to seek "friendlier" judicial rulings.
- Detention Standards: Prohibits overnight detention at ICE field offices not equipped for long-term stays, specifically addressing substandard conditions in Burlington.
