WASHINGTON— Following reports that Burma’s military has staged a coup and detained the country’s senior leaders including Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, Rep. Seth Moulton released the following statement: 

The people of Burma have spoken through the democratic process, and they have reelected Aung San Suu Kyi’s government. 

I join U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s call on Burma’s military leaders to release all government officials and civil society leaders.

NEWBURY — U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton joined state and local officials in putting out a call to protect the Plum Island shoreline Monday afternoon.

Marc Sarkady, the president of the Plum Island Foundation, said last week the federal fiscal 2021 budget includes $19 million for dredging sand from the Merrimack and Piscataqua rivers, with some of that sand used to stem erosion along the Reservation Terrace beach.

An additional $250,000 to $350,000 will have to be raised from sources other than the federal government to haul the sand before the dredging project can get underway.

SALEM, Mass. – Today, Rep. Seth Moulton encouraged all veterans, and especially veterans 75 and older, who are not already patients of the VA to consider enrolling in the VA healthcare system in order to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The federal Veterans Affairs health care system is immunizing veterans independently from the state.

Representative Seth Moulton (MA-06) seeks a Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent for his Washington, DC team. This individual is responsible for managing front line constituent communications (tours, flags, incoming calls and visitors), managing the intern program (recruiting, onboarding, ensuring they have a good experience), managing office operations (serve as liaison to HIR/Telecom/AOC, Parking Coordinator, manage office purchases and receipts), overseeing a robust constituent correspondence program, and other administrative or operational duties as assigned.

Newburyport, Mass. – Today, Rep. Seth Moulton with Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey announced that they secured $7.3 million in funding for the Newburyport Harbor Federal Navigation Project in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers FY 2021 Work Plan. The win means the federal channel will be dredged for the first time since 2010.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Seth Moulton is sending a letter to the heads of several technology companies demanding their assistance in tracking down as many of the domestic terrorists responsible for breaching the United States Capitol during Wednesday’s failed coup attempt. Moulton, noting that many of the rioters documented their actions both before and after the events online, called upon the social media platforms to cooperate with federal law enforcement so that the perpetrators of the attack can be brought to justice.

Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Seth Moulton is calling on his fellow U.S. Representatives to impeach President Donald Trump if Vice President Mike Pence and the cabinent refuse to remove him from office. This comes after the insurrection of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. by pro-Trump extremists on Wednesday. 

Moulton told Boston Public Radio on Friday that he feels many Republican lawmakers lack the courage to do what they know is right.
