WASHINGTON — Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) issued the following statement on Afghanistan:
To say that today is anything short of a disaster would be dishonest. Worse, it was avoidable. The time to debate whether we stay in Afghanistan has passed, but there is still time to debate how we manage our retreat. For months, I have been calling on the Administration to evacuate our allies immediately—not to wait for paperwork, for shaky agreements with third countries, or for time to make it look more “orderly.”
After the Taliban’s rapid power grab in Afghanistan that left the Biden administration and U.S. officials shocked, U.S. Representative Seth Moulton called for an immediate evacuation of American allies.
Salem, Mass. — Today, Representative Seth Moulton announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is awarding the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) with $859.6 million worth of critical funding through the American Rescue Plan. Moulton led a bipartisan effort, with the support of 78 other lawmakers, to include transit relief in the federal response to the pandemic.
LYNN, Mass. — Today, Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) announced that the Army has awarded General Electric Aviation a $208,162,355 contract to overhaul the T700 engine. The majority of the work that this contract funds will happen in Lynn.
