A Democratic lawmaker and Iraq War veteran is questioning President Donald Trump's strategy in Syria, particularly in the context of Trump's opposition to allowing Syrian refugees to come to the US.
LYNN – U.S. Rep Seth Moulton (D-MA) addressed issues close and far from home Saturday at a packed town hall meeting.
Moulton began the meeting, at the North Shore Community College Lynn campus, by clarifying the priorities of his office. He said they fit into three distinct spheres: international, domestic, and district-wide.
Mark Murphy said he drove from Lynnfield in the hopes of hearing the congressman speak about the recent attack on Syria.
With the wind-swept vista of the nation's oldest fishing seaport on full display behind him, U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton on Saturday stood with his feet on the Gloucester waterfront and his eye on the future of the commercial fishing industry.
Moulton was in Gloucester to announce legislation he believes will help rebuild the industry's dwindling workforce by removing training and economic barriers to cultivate a new generation of fishermen.
On America's left, some pointed to the contrast between Mr Trump's concern for the ‘beautiful babies’ being bombed by Mr Assad and his attempted ban on Syrian refugees. Seth Moulton, a House Massachusetts Democrat, said, ‘So the President cares enough about the Syrian people to launch 50 Tomahawks but not enough to let the victims of Assad find refuge & freedom here.’

A path to erect a National Global War on Terrorism Memorial in the nationa’s capital is being laid, Congressman Seth Moulton, D-Salem, recently announced in a joint press conference in the main hall of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Washington D.C. Headquarters.
The memorial would commemorate and honor the members of the Armed Forces who’ve served in defense of the United States in post-Sept. 11 conflicts.
The top lawmakers on the House Armed Services oversight subcommittee are urging President Trump to fill Pentagon positions they say have sat empty for too long.
“We are writing to urge that you nominate a full slate of capable, independent individuals to fill the existing vacancies at Department of Defense’s Offices of the Inspector General (DOD IG) and at the Office of Special Counsel (OSC),” Reps. Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.) and Seth Moulton (D-Mass.), the chairwoman and ranking member of the subcommittee, wrote to Trump this week.
