Some New England fishermen could now be looking at footing the bill for the cost of fishing monitors. The federally mandated monitors periodically collect data aboard vessels and observe the catches of groundfish, like cod and flounder.
ESSEX — The Essex River shone in the cold sun Thursday for the announcement that Congressman Seth Moulton, who represents the 6th District — which includes Cape Ann — is sponsoring a bill that would clear the way for the town to clean up the Essex River channel.
SALEM, MA — Seth Moulton's new storefront office at 21 Front St. makes you think you've stumbled into a high-tech startup rather than the new location for the 6th Congressional District office.
Congressman Seth Moulton, D-Mass., will hold a Congress on Your Corner event 2-3 p.m. Jan. 16 in the community room at Saugus Public Library, 265 Central St.
Constituents are invited to come and meet with Moulton and his staff.
In 2013, Ahmad Alkhalaf lost both of his arms when a bomb struck the refugee camp where he and his family lived in Syria. Ahmad's three siblings were killed, and he now lives in Boston with his father.
Ahmad will be attending as a special guest of Rep. Seth Moulton, along with his father.

A Massachusetts Congressman’s special guest at Tuesday’s State of the Union address is getting a lot of attention. Rep. Seth Moulton invited 9-year-old Ahmad Alkhalaf to join him at the president’s speech.
“Ahmad is such a courageous young man. It was an honor to meet him,” Moulton said on social media before the address.
