WASHINGTON — Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi selected Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) for a key committee that negotiates the final passage of the FY 21 National Defense Authorization Act.

Moulton said, “Massachusetts has a proud, patriotic history and has always played an outsized role in the nation’s defense. More than 200,000 people in New England work on defense projects funded by Congress, in particular in developing the next-generation technologies to keep our troops safe overseas and our families safe at home.”

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed legislation to create the tech sector apprenticeships Rep. Seth Moulton designed in his CHANCE in Tech Act. The key parts of Moulton’s bill were included in The National Apprenticeship Act, a larger package of apprenticeship bills.

WASHINGTON — Today, the Co-chairs of the Congressional Iraq Caucus, Representatives Seth Moulton (D-MA) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), demanded answers from Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher C. Miller and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the recently-announced plans to drastically cut the number of diplomatic and military personnel currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

BEVERLY — Congressman Seth Moulton's office and state and local officials on Monday expressed concern about the ongoing contamination at the former Varian site on Sohier Road and vowed to hold the company accountable for its cleanup.

A spokesman for Moulton said his office contacted the federal Environmental Protection Agency after The Salem News reported on Monday that levels of potentially toxic chemicals remain high despite a cleanup that has been going on for 28 years.

Larry Smith still feels pain from the moment a military training exercise went wrong.

“I landed on the back of my head and my neck and I landed back here. I found out the human body actually bounces. I came down headfirst and I wasn’t able to get my hands down because of the way I came off the obstacle,” says Smith. “I couldn’t feel my feet, couldn’t feel anything.”

Despite injuries like whiplash and a concussion, he still traveled overseas with his Air Force Unit, serving a year in the Persian Gulf War.

American flag in hand, Debbie Weinstein walked slowly across the lush grass Tuesday at Baker Street Memorial Park in West Roxbury.

The Lakeville woman bent toward the ground, placed the flag beside a flat grave marker, and rose to honor Daniel Weinstein, her father-in-law, an Army private in World War II who died in 2008 at the age of 87. Across this sprawling Jewish cemetery at the edge of Boston, Weinstein and the caretakers who work there appeared to be all alone.

I have no doubt that Secretary Esper was fired for being critical of President Trump’s policies, which is Esper’s role as the civilian in charge of the Department of Defense.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Monday, an unprecedented move by a president struggling to accept election defeat and angry at a Pentagon leader he believes wasn’t loyal enough.

The decision, which could unsettle international allies and Pentagon leadership, injects another element of uncertainty to a rocky transition period as Joe Biden prepares to assume the presidency.
