WASHINGTON---Today, the President addressed the nation in an attempt to rebrand the Trump Doctrine. He announced that the U.S. would lift sanctions on Turkey in return for Turkey’s commitment to a permanent ceasefire in Syria.

WASHINGTON — Moments ago in Turkey, Vice President Mike Pence announced a 120-hour ceasefire between Turkey and the Syrian Kurds. The deal will force the Kurds living in Turkey’s desired buffer zone from their homes and extracts no concessions from Turkey. The deal also includes no sanctions on Turkey’s leaders in response to their invasion of Kurdish held territory in Syria after the president’s decision to abandon America’s Kurdish allies.

Following the news that the major U.S. policy shift was ordered after a call between President Trump and Turkish President Erdogan, Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) made the following statement:

Salem, Mass. — The office of Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) is accepting applications to U.S. service academies through the end of October. Every Member of Congress has the ability to nominate students within their congressional district to attend a service academy. Moulton, a Marine who served in Iraq, annually nominates up to 10 candidates for vacant slots allocated to the district.

WASHINGTON---This morning, following reports over the weekend that President Trump withheld foreign aid to Ukraine in an attempt to gather information on former Vice President Joe Biden, a group of freshmen Members of Congress who have national security backgrounds called on the House’s leaders to begin impeachment proceedings in a Washington Post op-ed.

This afternoon, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced the House would open impeachment proceedings.

Topsfield, Mass. — Today, Representative Seth Moulton (MA-06) joined FEMA Region 1 Fire Program Specialist Dave Parr to deliver a $429,715 regional grant to the Topsfield, Essex, and Middleton Fire Departments.

The departments will use the grant to purchase radios that will allow them to communicate with each other and other departments in the region at the scene of large fires.

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) voted in favor of two bills that would protect America’s coasts from offshore drilling, which is a direct threat to the state’s fishing and tourism economy and the critically-endangered North Atlantic right whale. The bills, The Coastal and Marine Economies Protection Act and The Protecting and Securing Florida’s Coastline Act, both passed in the House of Representatives.
