CONGRESSIONAL YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL
Congressman Moulton feels strongly that young people should have a seat at the table helping influence what their politicians are working on at home and in Washington. The Congressional Youth Advisory Council (CYAC) is a civic engagement opportunity open to Massachusetts 6th District students entering their junior or senior year of high school. The council is a year-long commitment, consisting of policy discussions, legislative writing, and meetings with the staff and the Congressman.
The nonpartisan council is designed to provide youth with the chance to have their voices heard on public policy, engage with their elected representative, and develop the skills to address the critical issues facing our country. CYAC is a selective and limited opportunity — it is important that students who are chosen are committed to participating in meetings and playing an active role in council activities. We expect that members will prioritize their role as a voice for youth in their community.
