Vote Explainer - H.Res.488 Denouncing the antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado.
On June 9, 2025, I voted for two resolutions condemning the recent antisemitic attacks in Boulder, Colorado. We need to strongly condemn antisemitic terror in America and keep our communities safe. The horrible attack in Boulder against peaceful residents, including a Holocaust survivor, who gathered to support the hostages in Gaza is appalling and cannot be condemned loudly enough.
One of the resolutions (H.Res.488) has been criticized by some Democrats because of a line at the end thanking law enforcement, including ICE, for their work protecting the homeland. It is important to recognize that there rarely exists a bill or resolution that I vote for because I agree with every single word in it. At the end of the day, I cast my vote for H. Res 488 because I believe that it is critical to loudly condemn antisemitic terror, which was the overarching purpose of this resolution.
I will continue to loudly oppose Trump’s agenda—especially his desires to weaponize ICE and create a culture of fear in immigrant communities across the country—while loudly condemning antisemitism. Democrats can—and need—to do both.
