Moulton Votes No on Funding Package, Citing DHS Funding Stopgap Bill

February 3, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Seth Moulton (MA-06) issued the following statement regarding his decision to vote No on today’s government funding package, which includes a stopgap funding bill for Homeland Security appropriations.

“Today I voted No on the government funding package, which includes the DHS funding stopgap bill.

"Holding the Department of Homeland Security and this administration accountable must be our priority. We need to fight—and that means using every bit of leverage we have to put a stop to ICE and CBP’s abuses of power. ICE should not receive further funding; the agency as it exists today is broken beyond repair and cannot continue. ICE must be prosecuted for its blatant violations of the law.

“The killing of U.S. citizens, the obstruction of local investigators, and the ongoing presence of masked thugs in neighborhoods continue to fuel fear and chaos in communities across America. It’s unacceptable. We cannot and should not blindly fund a department that is enabling state-sponsored violence against its own citizens and eroding public trust in law enforcement.”
