Moulton Statement on Recent Terrorist Attacks in Israel
Washington, D.C.—Congressman Seth Moulton released the following statement in response to the three recent terrorist attacks in Israel that claimed eleven lives.
"In a span of less than two weeks, three terrorist attacks in Israel claimed eleven innocent lives. Among the victims were Jews, Christians, and Muslims. My deepest sympathies are with all of those affected by these senseless acts of violence. Now, as always, Israel has the right to defend itself and we should all stand united against terrorism. With tensions now increasing each day, the risk of escalation is very high.
The fact that ISIS has claimed responsibility for multiple recent incidents is especially concerning. ISIS isn’t fighting for Palestinian independence or Arab rights. If anything, its actions will only serve to spoil any actual progress and distract from Ramadan, the holiest time of the year for Muslims. It is clear that the status quo is not working. The world is rightly distracted by the atrocities in Ukraine, but we also can’t lose sight of the real risk of another conflict boiling over."
