Moulton Statement on Kavanaugh Nomination

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) issued the following statement after President Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh to fill the Supreme Court seat left vacant by Justice Anthony Kennedy:

“Our democracy depends on three independent branches of government checking and balancing one another. President Trump’s Supreme Court nomination jeopardizes this core function and injects the same partisanship into the courts that has crippled Congress and eroded confidence in the executive. Americans deserve justices and leaders who will earn our trust and move this country forward--not pull us into the past. Brett Kavanaugh does not meet that standard.”
