Moulton Joins Mass Delegation Writing Letter to FEMA

March 3, 2015

Washington, DC – On March 3, 2015, Congressman Moulton joined fellow Representatives from the Massachusetts Delegation along with Senators Warren and Markey in sending a letter to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Regional Administrator Paul Ford urging the agency to support the Commonwealth’s disaster recovery efforts. The historic snowfall accumulations of the last several weeks have resulted in significant disaster management and recovery costs, draining Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency's (MEMA) disaster fund.

In the letter, the Massachusetts delegation requests that FEMA approve Governor Charlie Baker’s request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration and support the Preliminary Damage Assessment Process. The letter notes the increased flood risk due to melting snow, highlighting the particular risk to coastal communities including those throughout the sixth district.
