The only choice we should be making for women is the choice to stand up and be allies to them.

Washington, D.C. – Today, in response to passage of the anti-woman, anti-choice “Born-Alive” bill, Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) released the following statement:

“Instead of working with Democrats to tackle the challenges facing Congress, keeping the government open for example, Republicans have decided to pass a partisan bill that does nothing more than scare women away from exercising their constitutional right, intimidate medical professionals, and mislead the public about abortions. I find it shameful that Republican leadership was able to successfully launch an assault on women’s health, and yet, the #MeToo Act still hasn’t come to the floor for a vote.

“It’s time to start actually protecting women, listening to them, and making sure their freedoms are fully protected. The only choice we should be making for women is the choice to stand up and be allies to them, especially in our current climate and culture. Restricting women’s rights is not just bad for women, it’s bad for families, it’s bad for communities, and it’s bad for a country founded upon the values of freedom and equal rights.”
