Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) went to the steps of the United States Supreme Court to hear the court’s ruling on marriage equality. Following the announcement, Moulton recorded a video statement, which can be viewed here, and is transcribed below:
“It’s an honor to be here in front of the Supreme Court on this incredibly historic day. Reverend Martin Luther King said that 'the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.’ Today we are seeing that in action; we are witnessing history change. I’m especially proud to be here as a Representative of Massachusetts, a state that has truly led the fight for equality.
"This decision means a lot to me and my family as my brother is gay, it means a lot to our entire community, and it means a lot to everyone throughout the United States of America who has yearned for freedom and has been denied it until today.”
