Moulton Statement on Signing of Infrastructure Bill

WASHINGTON — Ahead of President Biden signing the $1.2 trillion infrastructure package into law, Representative Seth Moulton released the following statement

“Today is a special and historic day for the country, but also for the state of Massachusetts. This infrastructure package will make the long overdue investments in American infrastructure that families across the Bay State have been asking for since I got to Congress in 2015.

This means $100 million to connect communities with reliable, high-speed internet; $1.1 billion to ensure families have access to clean, safe drinking water; $47 billion for resilience that strengthens our coasts and infrastructure from climate change and more.

But to be clear: our job isn’t done. A great start to making the once-in-a-generation investments American families need and deserve is to pass the Build Back Better Act.

This transformational bill will help us connect communities with high-speed rail, deliver quality childcare and paid family medical leave, combat the growing threat of climate change, crack down on the high costs of life-saving medication and so much more.

Together, with the infrastructure bill, this agenda will serve as the largest investment in working people since the New Deal. I’m looking forward to working with the Biden administration and my colleagues in Congress to make this happen.”
