The Boston Globe: How did US Senators, Representatives from Mass. Vote on the 9/11 bill?

Almost every senator and representative from Massachusetts voted to override the president’s veto on the Sept. 11 bill today — save for two.

The bill, which Congress passed in an override to President Barack Obama’s veto, would allow families of Sept. 11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia for its alleged backing of the attackers. Obama and top national security officials warned that flaws in the bill could put US interests, troops, and intelligence personnel at risk.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey both voted for it to pass, as did seven of nine representatives from Massachusetts.

The two who stood against the bill? Jim McGovern and Seth Moulton, who is an Iraq War veteran.

The bill passed in the House with 348 for and 77 against.

Only one senator voted against the bill: Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.

Senators Tim Kaine and Bernie Sanders did not participate in the vote.
