Newburyport Harbor Receives $200,000 in Omnibus Spending Bill
April 3rd, 2018
Moulton: “We are fortunate to have coastal communities significant to the cultural and economic heritage of our entire country”
Salem, MA – Today, Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) released the following statement in response to Newburyport Harbor receiving $200,000 through the Army Corps of Engineers in the recently passed omnibus spending bill:
“I am happy to report that the 2018 omnibus package included $200,000 for design and other preparation for the future dredging of the Newburyport Harbor to keep it safe. From fishing out of the harbor with a friend growing up to touring the area with the Coast Guard as a congressman, I have seen how vital safe passage is to everyone from recreational boaters to commercial fishermen. We are fortunate to have coastal communities significant to the cultural and economic heritage of our entire country, and helping their economies grow for future generations is something my team and I are proud to do.”
